Florida First Generation Students to Benefit from $10 Million Gift
The Helios Education Foundation announced on December 6 that they were donating $10 million to Florida schools to help students who will be the first in their family to achieve a college degree.
There were two checks presented....$5 million to the Board of Governors Foundation of the State University System and $5 million to the Foundation for Florida’s Community Colleges. These gifts will be matched by the state and the earnings from the endowments will provide a continuing resource of college grants for students of the future.
