College Scholarships - Time is Running Short

Valentine's Day has come and gone and hopefully you have already submitted your FAFSA. If not, stop right here and go take care of it. If that's all set, it's time to move on back to scholarship applications. The more you put in for, the better your chances of winning some money.

For local scholarships, check your town newspaper as well as their website. Make a list of local social clubs, churches, veterans' clubs, banks and credit unions and check with them to see if they are offering any scholarships.

Some of them may have scholarships sponsored by the local club and also another scholarship offered by the national organization. Some credit unions offer scholarships if you are a member. Usually all you need to do is open a savings account to become a member and be eligible for the scholarships.

Check websites like Fastweb or College Scholarships, Loans & Grants and spend some time each day applying for scholarships. Time is tight and deadlines come fast.
